KSC is a student-run nonprofit organization based at UC Davis, dedicated to serving the greater Davis and Sacramento communities.

 

Our mission is to foster teamwork, leadership, and a love for sports through inclusive and engaging programs for children and teens.

Our team is made up of passionate college students with years of experience in child care and safety, ensuring a supportive and secure environment for all participants. At KSC, we strive to inspire the next generation through the power of sports and community.

Our sports programs are designed for K-12 students, providing fun and engaging opportunities to stay active after school and on weekends. Games are organized into age-appropriate groups:

• K-2

• 3-5

• 6-8

High school students are invited to join as volunteers, helping to run the programs and even participating in games, fostering leadership skills and community spirit.

 

It's a great way for all students to build teamwork, stay active, and enjoy the love of sports together!

We are dedicated to fostering personal growth and development in students from grades K-12 by instilling core values such as teamwork, perseverance, kindness, and character-building.

 

Through mentorship and sports participation, we provide a supportive environment where children can learn the importance of collaboration, develop resilience in the face of challenges, and cultivate empathy and respect for others.

Our programs go beyond the playing field, focusing on shaping well-rounded individuals who carry these principles into their daily lives, schoolwork, and future endeavors. By combining the power of mentorship with the dynamic lessons of sports, we aim to empower the next generation to become confident, compassionate, and capable leaders in their communities.

1. KSC believes that no child should ever be picked last which is why drafts at events are hereby banned and teams will be assigned randomly by the event manager with a best effort to keep fair teams and an even number of players on each team.

2. Each player is entitled to even playing time regardless of skill level (ideally the entire game).

3. Each player will be allowed to play the position they want at some point during the game, but not for the entire game unless no other player would like to play that certain position.

4. Keeping score is optional, but for tournament style games there can be winners and losers. KSC teaches children how to win and lose gracefully.

5. One board member must have first aid equipment on hand at all times in the case of injuries or medical emergencies.

6. Celebrations with your team are encouraged but taunting the other team is strictly prohibited.
